This year’s Drug Delivery & Formulation Summit included discussions on solubility, drug penetration, and new approaches to technology.
This year’s Drug Delivery & Formulation Summit was held on Dec. 16–17, 2014 in Mumbai, India. The two-day summit was hosted by UBM India and focused on enhancing solubility and bioavailability of drugs mechanisms that can be programmed to release drug molecules at targeted cells in the body through innovative formulation and delivery technology.
A variety of topics were discussed, including nano particles and targeted-delivery systems; the difference, applicability, and correlation between in-vitro and in-vivo; bioequivalence studies; and process analytical technology and its applications. The summit also provided insight into drug encapsulation and the prevention of drug degradation.
Speakers included a variety of drug delivery innovation subject matter experts, ranging from scientists, research fellows, and industry leaders. Looking at a report released by CPhI earlier this year, the summit further corroborates India’s current influence over drug-delivery technology and on the pharmaceutical industry as a whole.
