This article looks at data gathered from several studies of a widely marketed chlorobutyl rubber formulation used for vial stoppers and prefilled syringes. The studies examined material properties, machinability, function in syringes, and extractables, comparing the use of these sterilization techniques on rubber slabs and prefillable syringe plungers.
