Starna introduces new NIR Metal-on-Quartz neutral density filter Certified Reference Materials

By producing NIR Metal-on-Quartz filters, Starna Scientific adds another high quality product to its comprehensive range of Certified Reference Materials, enhancing and extending the capability to qualify the full range Transmittance scale of a UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer.

Manufactured and produced within the Starna ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO Guide 34 accreditation as a Reference Material producer, the new NIR standard completes the range of Certified Reference Materials available for instrument validation or verification.

The NIR Metal-on-Quartz neutral density filter is protected from oxidation, physical degradation or contamination by the use of a novel cover plate which is optically bonded to the surface. This results in a durable, extended lifetime filter.

An essential part of the Starna development philosophy is to take proven existing products and fine-tune the quality to improve specifications further; in these new NIR sets the substrates have been optimised specifically for measurement in the NIR region.
