Reach Separations has announced plans to double its laboratory space at its Nottingham facility (United Kingdom) as a result of increased demand for its specialist purification services. The company will be investing in analytical equipment and purification systems.

This growth for purification expertise is being driven by the increasing demand for chromatography capabilities from drug discovery and contract research sectors across Europe. Reach Separations’ focus is to provide purification services with a rapid turnaround time to ensure the material is in back in the hands of the chemist quickly.

According to the company’s technical group director Phil Abbott, this venture marks a major milestone for Reach Separation and the expanded resource and capacity will enable the company to work at greater speeds and meet tight deadlines. Screen time can be reduced and compounds can be delivered back to customers quicker.

In 2014, Reach Separations entered into a strategic alliance with Evotec and has since provided ongoing purification, analytical, and small molecule chromatography to aid Evotec’s pharmaceutical and biotech clients worldwide. Supporting small molecule synthesis requirements, the company supports clients in the fields of chiral, reverse- and normal-phase chromatography from mg scale to in excess of 500 g.
