Pelican BioThermal, a provider of temperature-controlled packaging solutions for the life-sciences industry, announced on May 13, 2016 that it has entered into partnerships with BioThermal Solutions and NatBio, which offer cold chain logistics support in South America. Located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, NatBio was created to meet the demands of specialized clinics. BioThermal Solutions, based in Santiago, Chile, provides cold-chain maintenance solutions throughout Chile.

“In Brazil, broad temperature variations, custom processes between states, and poorly maintained highways often create delays. Because of this, cold chain logistics distribution of expensive and valuable pharmaceutical drugs often have to resort to delivery via more costly air freight,” said NatBio executive director, Fabio Marins, in a press announcement.

In addition to the South American partnerships, on May 11, 2016 Pelican BioThermal announced that it opened new Asian headquarters in Singapore. The location will be the central base for the company’s Asia sales office. Over the past 12 months Pelican BioThermal has opened service centers in Asia, the UK, and the US East Coast, the company said in a press announcement.
