Michael Black has a Bachelor of Science in biological chemistry and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. After a post doc with Professor Katritzky at the University of Florida, he entered the pharmaceutical industry as an API NCE development chemist at Boots Pharmaceuticals UK. Following this he was a product manager for bulk Ibuprofen at Knoll Pharmaceuticals, Germany. He was later a technical sales manager for actives and excipients at BASF, based in Germany. He then joined the Phosphate Company Budenheim and was responsible for the pharma business with a focus on innovation and novel technical medical applications. Since 2014, he has been the head of sales pharma at Beneo and is responsible for the innovative pharmaceutical excipient polyol galenIQ™.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Nutritional industries, Larry currently is the Pharmaceutical / Nutraceutical Sales Manager at BENEO, Inc. in North America.

Though he was a business major, Larry started his career in the laboratory specializing in the development of aqueous and enteric film coating systems along with direct compression calcium and oyster shell products for solid dosage (tablet) applications at CHR Hansen formerly Crompton & Knowles ITC.

In his near 30 year career; Larry has worked not only for manufacturers of high quality excipients i.e.: Sensient Pharmaceuticals formerly Warner Jenkinson and JM Huber Corporation, he also worked for over 6 years at IMCD US LLC formerly Mutchler, Inc. whom distributed a large portfolio of excipients from manufacturers around the world.

Larry always enjoys the thrill of the chase as it relates to promoting products/services to his customers and prospects along with managing SNP’s (strategic network partners) AKA: distributors and positioning them for success. Now when not looking to achieve 100% customer and SNP satisfaction, Larry enjoys spending time with his wife Keri, daughters Mia and Ellie along with their dog Stella in Northern New Jersey.
