The design of the shovel means that less drive power is required compared with a standard shovel, thus resulting in substantial energy savings.
Lödige Maschinenbau GmbH is showcasing a new type of shovel for mixing solids in horizontal Ploughshare mixers. According to Lödige, the innovative design of its patented shovel means that less drive power is required compared with a standard shovel, thus resulting in substantial energy savings.
High-efficiency shovel
The company claims that the shovel enables a reduction of approximately 40% in the starting torque and reduces the idle power, which means that it can run on a lower mixer motor output. The special efficiency of the shovel is also apparent in the operation of the Ploughshare mixer-the torque is reduced by approximately 10%, enabling further energy savings.
This high-efficiency shovel is suitable for industries that process heavy products or where the individual particles of solid materials have the tendency to clump. Combining high efficiency with the qualities of a standard Lödige shovel, the high-efficiency shovel is maintenance-friendly while offering a mixing quality comparable to known systems.
Also on display at ACHEMA is Lödige Ploughshare batch mixer FM 130, designed for processing bulk materials. The machine is characterized by short mixing times and a high level of batch reproducibility.
With the Ploughshare batch mixer FKM 2400 D, Lödige unveils a machine that is versatile, due to its various optional configurations. Wetting and granulation fixtures are available, and pumpable masses can be processed.
The company’s coater series LC was specially conceived for coating tablets. All three sub-processes relevant to tablet coating with a film were optimized for the purpose of spraying lacquers, mixing tablets, and drying at the same. The sophisticated process technology enables the LC 70 to work up to 40% faster than conventional machines, says Lödige.
The advanced operator interface of a touchscreen panel developed by Lödige for its process technological products guarantees the intuitive operation of the machines. Fast start-up of the systems is possible.
