The new ready-to-use, packaging and production workflow solutions from DWK Life Sciences feature NextGen V and E-Z Ex-Traction vials to enhance security and minimize waste.

DWK Life Sciences’ Packaging and Production Workflow Solutions are a collection of packaging products and services suited to enhance security and minimize waste of high-value diagnostic products.

The products feature NextGen V and E-Z Ex-Traction vials to maximize sample access with a syringe or pipette tip when paired with a selection of closure systems consisting of stoppers, seals, and caps. The vials come equipped with specialty wells to maximize sample recovery and are made from low extractable, chemically resistant borosilicate glass that meets United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Type 1 and American Society for Testing and Materials E 438 Type 1 Class A requirements. Customers have the option of clear or amber-colored glass, with or without graduations, and a crimp or threaded neck finish. Closure choices are also available and include screw caps made from phenolic or polypropylene and aluminum crimp caps.

Additionally, customers can order the products in ready-to-use condition by selecting one of the company’s custom service options, including particulate cleaning with a choice of USP or water for injection compliant rinses; endotoxin inactivation by depyrogenation to meet USP and FDA standards; sterilization by gamma irradiation or other methods; siliconization and silanization for minimizing interactions between product and container; application of customer-specified barcodes; and, providing the vial and closure with a tare weight for precise filling and weighing.

“Customers responded immediately to our Packaging and Production Workflow Solution featuring [h]igh [r]ecovery [c]ontainment systems, so we made the services available for our other products used in the clinical and diagnostic market,” said Rick Schwartz, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at DWK Life Sciences, in a July 23, 2019 press release. “This suite of services and capabilities is available for our line of vials and dropper bottles as well.”
