GE Healthcare to Partner with NIBRT for Biopharma Education Program

The companies plan to create a new curriculum focusing on single-use applications training, cell therapy technology, process efficiency strategies, process development methodologies, and chromatography proficiency.

GE Healthcare (GEHC) announced on Sept. 11, 2019 that it is teaming up with the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) in Dublin, Ireland, to deliver educational programming on biopharmaceutical and cell therapy development and manufacturing. 

The companies plan to share GEHC’s Fast Trak training and education curriculum and will co-develop a new curriculum to help the global biomanufacturing industry meet the needs of changing technologies and modalities,. The new curriculum will feature single-use applications training, cell-therapy technology, process efficiency strategies, process development methodologies, and chromatography proficiency.

“At NIBRT, we pride ourselves on our best-in-class education and training programs that support the thriving biopharmaceutical industry. By working with GEHC we will be able to leverage their biomanufacturing expertise to create exciting new programs designed to meet the global demand for talent,” said Killian O’Driscoll, director of projects, NIBRT, in the press release.

Courses will be available at the Jefferson Institute of Bioprocessing in Philadelphia, PA, the NIBRT facility in Dublin, and at GEHC Fast Trak locations in the United States, South Korea, Sweden, India, China, Turkey, Japan, and Singapore.
