Danapak Flexibles, a subsidiary of the Schur Flexibles Group, will be showcasing its flexible packaging solutions during Pharmapack Europe in Paris, 6–7 February 2019.
The company specializes in highly complex laminates that offer high chemical resistance and inertness to the transdermal industry. For those products that require significant inertness and chemical resistance, the company offers laminates that contain Barex.
However, in light of the discontinuation of Barex, Danapak has developed alternatives using the Hansen Solubility Parameter (HSP) analysis. As HSP analysis can calculate which specific contact layer would be best suited to withstand the individual APIs and excipients, the alternative solutions can be tailor-made to individual requirements.
In addition to the laminates, the company has introduced a range of lidding materials for blister applications, including a transparent range, which is of particular interest for those products where visibility through the packaging is a requirement.
Furthermore, Danapak has released a new anti-counterfeiting solution, which comprises a holographic effect that is built into the packaging itself without the use of ink or varnish. The holographic effect is made using nano-structures that reflect light in specified colours and patterns and can be seen without the use of any device by the end user.
