Over the years, CPhI has expanded beyond Europe to conquer the globe, with additional annual shows now being held in India, China, Japan, South America and Indonesia. In addition, ICSE will debut in the US in 2012.
CPhI India
The next event will be CPhI India, which will take place in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 30 November to 2 December. As is traditional with many of the CPhI shows, ICSE, P-MEC and BioPh will also be collocated at the event. The organisers are already promoting CPhI India and demand for the exhibitor spaces has been high!
CPhI India 2010 attracted more than 26000 visitors from 86 countries and 800 exhibitors, and the organisers expect these numbers to be exceeded this year. Weekly pre-registrations are currently running over 300% higher than they were at the same time last year for the 2010 event.
A series of conferences will be held alongside the main exhibition at the Grand Sarovar Premiere Hotel. There will be six half-day seminars covering API strategies, maximising export potential, generics, consumer healthcare and OTC drugs, biosimilar regulations and clinical trials.
Annemieke Timmers, Brand Director CPhI, said in a press statement: "We have geared the show to deliver significant return on investment (ROI) for pharma professionals who are currently working with or looking to establish relationships with Indian pharmaceutical companies. Our events offer direct access to a high-growth market that is estimated to generate $13.1 Billion revenue in FY 2011. Beyond the immediate projections for the market, the domestic pharmaceutical industry in India is expected to further grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 15% during FY 2012-FY 2014. Our visitors are guaranteed to benefit from strengthening current business relations and making new business connections in a market that is well equipped to scale-up to requests for products and services quickly through networks that take advantage of the latest technologies available."

Jakarta International Expo
At CPhI Worldwide 2012 in Frankfurt, the organisers, UBM, announced that the newest addition to the CPhI event schedule would be CPhI South East Asia, which will be held in Jakarta (Indonesia).
"Indonesia is the ideal location for the introduction of a new CPhI event. The South East Asia region is an exceptional example of a "pharmerging" market and we feel that it is key to establish presence here at this time. The new event offers visitors with a unique opportunity to access an area that is aligning itself for explosive growth," noted Greg Kerwin, UBM Pharma Portfolio Director, in a press statement. "The pharmaceutical market is growing across the region, and the increased demand for pharma raw materials offers great potential for international suppliers to expand their footprint in the ASEAN companies. CPhI effectively provides a one-stop-shop for meeting new potential customers and partners in these growth territories."
According to the statement, Indonesia's pharmaceutical market had an estimated value of US$3.9 billion in 2010, which represented an increase of more than 10% from the previous year.
