The digital event, called Bio Digital 2020, will now take place from June 8–12, 2020.
The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) announced on April 3, 2020 that the 2020 BIO International Convention, originally scheduled for June 8–11, 2020 in San Diego, CA, will now transition to an online-only platform due to the continuing outbreak of COVID-19. The digital event, called Bio Digital 2020, will take place from June 8–12, 2020.
According to a press release, BIO will use its BIO One-on-One Partnering system to give attendees access to schedule virtual meetings and enhance their business development and licensing capabilities via partnerships and virtual collaboration. The online conference will also feature live and on-demand panels focused on COVID-19, infectious diseases, vaccine development, digital health, business development, and the latest therapeutic advancements in biotech.
“The coronavirus is an urgent focus for the biotechnology industry as we work tirelessly to combat this public health threat,” said Jim Greenwood, BIO president and CEO, in the press release. “Now, more than ever, it’s critical for the biotechnology world to convene and forge collaborations, partnerships, and research to advance innovations for our patients and to solve our most timely global issues.”
