WellSpring Pharma formed a strategic partnership with IDT Australia and invested $3 million in new equipment.

WellSpring Pharma Services announced a $3 million capital investment in equipment and a strategic partnership with IDT Australia to manufacture drugs targeting the US market. According to an April 7, 2016 press announcement, the capital investment enables directly scalable capabilities in smaller development-scale equipment, expanded manufacturing for specialized dosage forms such as bilayer tablets, and improved support for high-potency compound manufacturing.

Among the equipment added during the capitalization were an Alexanderwerk Roller Compactor, an IMA Precisa capsule weight checker, a 400 kg O’Hara Tray Drying oven, a Korsch XL 400 Tablet Press with bilayer module, a Glatt GPCG 2/5 Fluid Bed Processor, an O’Hara Aqueous Film Coater with 18” and 30” interchangeable pans, and a 5L Becomix Counter sweep vessel.
