The two companies have entered into an agreement to provide Suzeken with access to AmerisourceBergen’s Cubixx inventory solution.

Suzuken and AmerisourceBergen announced on November 4, 2016 that the two companies have entered into an agreement to provide Suzuken with access to AmerisourceBergen’s Cubixx inventory solution to enhance Suzuken’s ability to distribute specialty drugs in Japan.

The Cubixx solution, which includes radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled refrigeration units and an integrated cloud-based inventory management portal, streamlines logistics management for specialty drugs. Cubixx allows for the monitoring of variables that impact inventory integrity including temperature monitoring and product traceability. These functionalities can be made to comply with various laws and regulations pertaining to pharmaceuticals and RFID technology.

“AmerisourceBergen’s Cubixx technology offers us a groundbreaking tool to further enhance our nationwide logistics capabilities for specialty drugs, enabling us to provide Japanese patients with safer and more efficient access to medications,” said Hiromi Miyata, president and CEO of Suzuken, in a press release. “Through the introduction of Cubixx, the Suzuken Group will redouble its dedication to supporting pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical institutions and insurance pharmacies, as well as community healthcare providers and patients.”
