The MA3100 high performance ion mobility pre-separator (HPIMS) from Excellims has been built to interface with multiple mass spectrometer (MS) product lines from Thermo Fisher Scientific. The MA3100 enhances MS technology by increasing versatility, simplifying complex spectra, and allowing targeted analysis of gas phase ions.
The HPIMS-Orbitrap MS combination delivers ultra-high-resolution separation of complex samples in both ion mobility and m/z domains and provides information about the structure and identity of molecular ions. The MA3100 is exchangeable with the current ionization sources of the MS. The technology attains high-resolution separation that has not been possible on previously existing systems and routinely performs separations with a resolving power of more than 70.
