The new feature enables control of bead formation and rapid production of particles with different sizes, shapes, and morphologies.
Dolomite Microfluidics, a design and manufacturing company based in the United Kingdom, announced its Single Emulsion Systems are now enabled for the reproducible production of monodisperse alginate beads.
According to a Sept. 3, 2019 press release, the new feature enables control of bead formation and rapid production of particles with different sizes, shapes, and morphologies. The systems come equipped with modular Telos technology and can synthesize droplets ranging in size from 2 µm–200 µm. The device also has control of flow rates and pressures to eliminate errors and waste while scaling nearly 500,000 droplets a second.
