Trends in Vaccine Tracking

The cold chain is of crucial importance for the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, and the industry—from pharmaceutical companies to dry ice suppliers—has been gearing up to support the effort. A key to success is tracking the vaccines as they move through the supply chain to ensure that they are delivered on-time and remain under appropriate storage conditions. Pharmaceutical Technology interviewed Mahesh Veerina, CEO of Cloudleaf, whose digital visibility software is being used for this purpose, about trends in tracking vaccines through the supply chain, including the use of Internet of Things (IoT)-based sensors for real-time monitoring of cold-chain distribution.
