The Opadry QX from Colorcon is suitable for tablets containing temperature-sensitive active ingredients.
The Opadry QX is a new, flexible, thin film tablet coating developed by Colorcon. Opadry can be applied over a broad range of process conditions and is suitable for tablets containing temperature-sensitive active ingredients. The high solids, low viscosity ingredients of Opadry QX allow coating across a broad range of process parameters in any type of coating equipment, Colorcon said on its website. The coating can also help reduces production and preparation times, the company said in an April 21, 2016 press announcement.
“Colorcon carried out extensive studies that clearly demonstrate the process adaptability of Opadry QX,” said Jason Teckoe, senior manager, Product Development at Colorcon in a press announcement. “The results confirm that Opadry QX provides operators with broader latitude to manage critical settings for optimal film coating such as tablet bed temperatures, spray, or air flow rates.”
