Pharmapack Europe, a conference for the pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery industry, discussed key industry issues including serialization, innovation, and patient centricity.
Pharmapack Europe, which took place in Paris from Feb. 10-11, 2016, addressed serialization and efforts to prevent pharmaceutical counterfeiting. The Serialization, Track & Track Symposium at the conference discussed the ongoing implementation of track-and-trace technologies, as well as the implications of the pan-European authentication scheme and its impact on contract manufacturers, offices of emergency management, and international pharmaceutical companies. The event also included an interactive exchange on anti-counterfeiting strategies, including authentication technologies to support brand protecting and supply chain integrity.
Multiple sessions and workshops at Pharmapack Europe concentrated on improving patient experience through ease-of-use, patient protection, and enhanced packaging. The conference also discussed innovation, focusing on patient compliance packaging solutions and medical polymer technologies for pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery.
Pharmapack Europe 2016 included 367 exhibitors and 3409 visitors, representing 74 countries in total. The 2017 conference is set to take place from Feb. 1-2, 2017 in Paris.
