Pharmapack Europe is inviting pharmaceutical packaging and drug-delivery experts to apply for the 2017 Pharmapack Awards.

Pharmapack Europe is inviting pharmaceutical packaging and drug-delivery experts to apply for the 2017 Pharmapack Awards. The awards have been a central part of the Pharmapack Europe conference since they began in 1997.

Pharmapack is accepting applications for two awards categories: exhibitor innovations and health products. The health-products category recognizes human and veterinary medicine, and medical devices, that were launched between March 2016 and January 2017. This award acknowledges the successful collaboration of pharmaceutical companies and their packaging suppliers.

The exhibitor innovation category pulls from Pharmapack’s Innovation Gallery, where exhibitors can showcase new packaging and drug-delivery solutions. All products launched after March 2016 that are participating in the Innovation Gallery will be automatically entered into the Pharmapack Awards for exhibitor innovations. Award entries will be judged by a panel of independent doctors and pharmacists, led by Professor Philippe Arnaud, pharmacist and service chief of the Bichat-Claude Bernard AP-HP hospital and France's National Agency for Medicines and Health Product Safety (ANSM) expert.

Pharmapack Awards entries should meet at least one of the following criteria. The product or innovation should ensure proper use of medications, and should encourage patient safety and improved use of medicines. Entries should indicate steps being made toward sustainable packaging and provide innovative packaging solutions or drug-delivery technologies. The winners of both categories will be revealed during the awards ceremony, hosted on the first day of the show, during the exhibitor and visitor cocktail party.

Those interested in applying for the 2017 awards can submit entries via the Pharmapack Europe Awards website. The final day to submit applications for the 2017 awards is Nov. 11, 2016.
