The New York City-based company will relocate to another building in the city.
Pfizer announced on April 10, 2018 that it has signed a 20-year lease for The Spiral, an office tower being built by Tishman Speyer, and will relocate its global headquarters from East 42nd Street, which the company has occupied since 1961.
The company will occupy 15 floors at The Spiral and expects to begin moving colleagues there in 2022. The East 42nd Street property is currently in the process of being sold by Pfizer.
“Pfizer’s history in New York City began in 1849, and we are proud to continue our commitment to the city with our move to The Spiral in Manhattan,” said Albert Bourla, chief operating officer at Pfizer, in a company press release. “In relocating our headquarters, we sought to provide our colleagues a modern, state-of-the-art headquarters that would foster greater collaboration and innovation in a vibrant neighborhood in Manhattan.”
