The Gerresheimer Group is opening two new centres: an R&D center for medical plastic systems in the US and a new production center for pharmaceutical plastic packaging in Spain.
The Gerresheimer Group is opening two new centres: an R&D center for medical plastic systems in the US and a new production center for pharmaceutical plastic packaging in Spain. A statement from the company said that the investments would enable the "group to expand its activities in the pharmaceutical plastic business".
"Plastics are increasingly gaining in importance within our highly specialized service portfolio for the international pharmaceutical industry, Axel Herberg, CEO of Gerresheimer AG, said in the press statement. "The pharmaceutical plastic business has meanwhile become the division with the highest growth rate, which we are continuing to expand systematically."
The center in the US will be located in Peachtree City (GA), and will become a "comprehensively operating research, development and production center", according to the company. Meanwhile, the Spanish plant, located in Masalaves, has been described by Gerresheimer as "the biggest production center of its kind in Southern Europe".
