A statement from the company said that the investments would enable the "group to expand its activities in the pharmaceutical plastic business".
"Plastics are increasingly gaining in importance within our highly specialized service portfolio for the international pharmaceutical industry, Axel Herberg, CEO of Gerresheimer AG, said in the press statement. "The pharmaceutical plastic business has meanwhile become the division with the highest growth rate, which we are continuing to expand systematically."
The center in the US will be located in Peachtree City (GA), and will become a "comprehensively operating research, development and production center", according to the company.
