Keith Moore will support Metrics Contract Services as vice president of analytical services.

Metrics Contract Services announced on July 6 that it has appointed Keith Moore as vice president of analytical services to lead the company’s analytical services team of 100 chemists. He is charged with building greater efficiencies within its analytical lab operations while maintaining strict quality compliance standards, the company reports.

Moore previously worked in Metrics’ analytical services division in 1998 as a laboratory analyst and became senior manager of analytical services by 2012. He served as senior manager of technical operations at Salix Pharmaceuticals, where he managed many R&D and commercial activities at numerous contract organizations.

Moore holds a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from N.C. Wesleyan College and a Master’s degree in business administration with honors from East Carolina University.

The analytical services division at Metrics conducts analytical chemistry and microbiology tests to determine and ensure the identity, purity, potency, and performance of drug products. In addition, the division provides method development and validation, and stability studies in compliance with international standards. Working in a 28,000-sq-ft cGMP-compliant facility, Metrics’ analytical chemists and technicians handle potent, cytotoxic, light-sensitive, temperature-sensitive, and DEA-regulated compounds.
