Dr. Shaukat Ali received his PhD from the City University of New York in Chemistry and carried out his postdoc work in Physical Biochemistry at the University of Minnesota and Cornell University. His area of expertise includes liposome, lipid nanoparticles, amorphous solid dispersions, SEEDS, controlled release, and film technologies. He has published over 70 scientific and technical papers and inventor in several US and European patents. Dr. Ali is a member of the editorial advisory boards of American Pharmaceutical Reviews, Biopharma Asia, Contract Pharma, among other journals. Dr. Ali is currently serving as a member of USP Council of expert for the Excipient Test Method Committee (2020-2025). He is the recipient of IPEC Foundation’s Honk de Jong award for his significant contribution in the field of excipient technologies. Dr. Ali is an AAPS Fellow.

Diane Burges, PhD is the founder of DIANT Pharma (2019). DIANT Pharma develops proprietary continuous manufacturing technology for nanoparticles with a wide array of applications throughout multiple industries, such as lipid nanoparticles and liposomes for pharmaceutical formulations. She is also the Inventor on 14 patents/patent applications—11 of which have been licensed to companies—and five products/product lines have already been commercialized. Her work extends to over 297 refereed publications, over 750 research presentations, over 352 invited presentations, and 30 keynote and plenary addresses.
