Industria Farmacéutica Andrómaco Recalls Diaper Rash Treatment

The company is recalling Pasta De Lassar Andromaco zinc oxide diaper rash treatment after FDA analysis confirmed the product contained high levels of yeast, mold, and bacteria.

On March 30, 2018, FDA sent an alert to consumers that Industria Farmacéutica Andrómaco was voluntarily recalling its Pasta De Lassar Andromaco zinc oxide diaper rash treatment after FDA analysis confirmed the product contained high levels of yeast, mold, and bacteria. The agency warns that use of the product may cause microbial contamination that may lead to infection.

The recalled product is available online and in retail stores and was donated to charity in California. While no adverse events have yet to be reported, FDA advised consumers to stop using the product and contact their healthcare professional should they see signs of infection. Adverse events may be reported to FDA’s MedWatch program.
