The technical center is a new addition to Ashland’s Shanghai facility.
Ashland has doubled the size of its pharmaceutical center in Shanghai, China with the addition of a new pharmaceutical technical center, the company said in an Oct. 26, 2016 press announcement. The facility, originally built in 2008, is now able to provide a range of pharmaceutical technical services including binding enhancement, disintegration improvement, modified release, solubilization, and film coating.
At the Shanghai facility, Ashland has new granulation, tableting, and coating systems. The company also has pilot-scale manufacturing methods for continuous processing of oral dosage forms, such as hot-melt extrusion and spray drying of solid dispersions.
