Ashland Facility Achieves EXCiPACT Certification

Ashland Chemical’s Calvert City, KY, facility is the first in the US to receive EXCiPACT certification for GMPs of pharmaceutical excipients.

Ashland announced on Feb. 11, 2015 that its manufacturing plant in Calvert City, KY, is first US excipient facility to receive EXCiPACT certification for good manufacturing practice. The certification covers the manufacturing, testing, and packaging of polyvinylpyrrolidone and polyvinylpolypyrrolidone used as pharmaceutical excipients.

In a press statement, Ashland reports a goal of having all of its global pharmaceutical excipient facilities certified by 2017.

The EXCiPACT Certification Scheme is a third-party international certification scheme for manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors of pharmaceutical excipients.
