Alliance Contract Pharma (ACP), a Harleysville, PA-based contract development and manufacturing organization, announced that its new $2-million liquid capsule filling line is now fully operational.
The new line can fill, band, and check the weight of 80,000 to 120,000 capsules per hour, according to a Sept. 24, 2019 press release. The filling line will accompany the company’s current liquid-filled capsule line, which weighs 40,000 capsules per hour.
“The expansion within our facility is a meaningful and impactful project that we expect will generate significant benefits for our [c]ontract [m]anufacturing clients,” said Benjamin Reed, vice-president, manufacturing, ACP, in the press release. “The additional capabilities and capacity provided by this project will improve throughput for our existing customers and support our future growth. We are excited to be investing in our ability to support and meet the needs of our growing customer base.”
