Designed specifically for pharmaceutical companies, the online production management system focuses on plant operations so materials flow smoothly to help companies achieve right-first-time manufacturing and faster product release.
LZ Lifescience, a manufacturing software speciliast, has announced the launch of a new manufacturing execution system (MES) for the pharmaceutical and contract manufacturing sector. Shopfloor-Online is a web-based product that has already been installed in different sectors. The creation of the Lifescience edition has extended its functionality to meet the MES requirements of the life-science sector. This new version is designed to assist companies with improved regulatory compliance, lower production costs, a centralized point of information, increased equipment efficiency, and reduced waste and inventory. By replacing traditional paper-based systems with MES, companies are able to deal with exceptions in real-time so that batch records and device history records can be reviewed in parallel with manufacturing rather than post production.
LZ Lifescience recognizes the increasing pressure on IT and infrastructure spend facing the pharmaceutical and outsourcing industry. Designed specifically for pharmaceutical companies, the online production management system focuses on plant operations so materials flow smoothly to help companies achieve right-first-time manufacturing and faster product release.
As part of the global launch initiative, LZ Lifescience has appointed MES executive, Christian Fortunel, as vice president to run its operations in the US and increase the software’s global reach.
Tim Barber, chairman and board director at LZ Lifescience, commented in a press statement, “We firmly believe current MES options on the market are price prohibitive for most tier-2 pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, and contract manufacturing organizations. Our aim with Shopfloor-Online is to therefore disrupt the sector by providing manufacturers of all sizes a genuinely affordable option to automate production management systems.
According to Barber, LZ Lifescience’s software allows organizations to simultaneously manage scheduling, production execution, workflow, quality and inventory all in place to increase plant production efficiency, reduce the risk and meet current regulations.
