IPEC-Americas Acquires Global Excipient Event

ExcipientFest has been acquired by IPEC and rebranded as Excipient World.

The International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council of the Americas (IPEC-Americas) announced on May 8, 2018 the acquisition of the excipient event ExcipientFest, and rebranding of the event as Excipient World. The first event under the new brand, Excipient World 2019, will be held May 6–8, 2019 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor in Maryland.

ExcipientFest was previously owned by Dwight Mutchler, president of IMCD US Pharma CMD (formerly Mutchler, Inc.), an excipient distributor. The most recent event was held in Puerto Rico on April 30–May 2, 2018.

“Dwight Mutchler and his team have done a tremendous job creating a valuable event that is internationally recognized for its quality education and sourcing opportunities,” stated Kimberly Beals, executive director of IPEC-Americas. “IPEC-Americas has been producing the conference program since 2011, so it is a natural fit to acquire the event which aligns with the organization’s mission to better serve the entire excipients industry.”

IPEC-Americas reported that the organization is working with an event consulting firm, Event Advisory Group (EAG), to rebrand the event to better address the needs of the global excipients industry, attract an expanded worldwide audience, and turn the event into a substantial non-dues revenue generator for the organization.
